Discover the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena holiday region

During your hiking holidays in Tyrol, you can expect not only majestic mountain peaks but also refreshingly cool bathing lakes with breath-taking Alpine backdrops.

Lake Heiterwang – the giant

Lake Heiterwang together with Lake Plansee form the second largest body of water in Tyrol. The fjord-like landscape can best be explored by boat – for example, on the MS Margarethe or MS Wilhelm. The diverse underwater flora and fauna in combination with the excellent water quality and visibility also offer ideal diving conditions. It is also a popular spot among fishers.

Lake Mittersee – the place to be

Lake Mittersee is a small idyllic mountain lake near Biberwier. The water temperature can reach up to 22 °C in summer. Little bathers can let off steam at the playground during their hiking holidays in Tyrol.

Bathing Lake Bichlbach – fun in the sun

The natural bathing Lake Bichlbach offers 1,400 m² of water with a children’s area, rafting equipment, mini golf area, beach volleyball court, tennis court, climbing park, flying fox, disc golf, and much more.

Lake Sebensee – the high mountain lake

At 1,675 metres above sea level above the Ehrwalder Alm lies the Lake Seebensee in the Mieminger mountain range. With its unique location and deep turquoise blue colour, it is a popular destination for hikers and bikers.

Lake Drachensee – refreshing!

Lake Drachensee is the highest lake in the region. It lies directly below the Coburger Hütte hut at 1,910 metres above sea level and is 28 metres deep. The lake’s water temperature is guaranteed to cool you down during hiking holidays in Tyrol!

Lake Blindsee – the insider tip

Our hotel in the Zugspitz Arena is just 15 minutes away from the idyllic Lake Blindsee. Even the journey there is picturesque: as you follow a narrow road through the forest, you soon catch a glimpse of the deep blue lake sparkling in the sun. Park the car in the car park and walk the rest of the way for a refreshing swim in the clear mountain water. If you feel the need for a little exercise before cooling off, a walk around the lake is highly recommended – by the way, you can also enjoy the lake’s surroundings on your mountain bike.
